In this tutorial I will show you how to retouch a lady with light and luxurious colors

Step 1: Before getting started, we need an image to work with. You can use the image below

First we should adjust its colors for best result by going to Image>Adjustments>Color Balance and use the following settings:

After this step we'll get:

Step 2: Brighten the image a bit by going to Image>Adjustments>Curves. Click on the straight line and move the dots up a little to make the image brighter

Simple but effective, right?

Step 3: Now we should bring a "soft light" for the image. Press Ctrl-J to duplicate this layer and go to Image>Adjustments>Desaturate to turn this layer into black & white

Step 4: Blur this layer a bit by going to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and use these settings:

Step 5: Change the Blending mode of this layer to Soft Light. As you notice, the image's contrast and brightness increase a lot!

Step 6: Merge down this layer by pressing Ctrl-E. We should make her skin smoother by going to Filter>Blur>Surface Blur with these settings:

Maybe you can not notice this subtle change if not zoom it in (View>Zoom In). And below is the result of this tutorial:
