Reflective Text

Water Reflection 80x80Reflective effect is one of the most beautiful and commonly used text effect. In this tutorial, you will learn how to make it in a clear and easy to follow tutorial 

Step 1: Create a new 800x800 pixels document with white background. Use the "Honrizontal Type Tool"(T) and type anything you want. You should use blue text color.

 Step 2: Right click on "Small Tutorials" layer and select "Duplicate Layer". Click on the "Move Tool"(V) and select "Show Tranform Controls" checkbox Water Reflection 3. Eight white boxes will appear around our text.

Step 3: Drag the top-center white box downward and you will get

 Step 4: Click on the "Move Tool" again. A dialog box will appear to ask you confirm the transformation, click "Apply". Move the transformed layer near the original layer

Step 5: Now click on "Add Layer Mask" beneath the "Layers" tab to add a mask to our transformed layer

 Step 6: Press D, X to reset to Black Foreground - White Background, use the "Gradient Tool"(G) and choose "Foreground to Transparent" pattern

 Step 7: Drag and drop like this:

 After this step, you will see your "Layers" tab like this:

 Let us continue to make a more real reflection!

Step 8:  Hold down Ctrl and click on Background layer. Right click and select "Merge Layers"

 Step 9: Go to Filter > Distort > Ocean Ripple and use these settings:

after step 7, you can fill the Background with the color you want!

I'm using PSE6 and I'm trying to do this... it's not working. I know the commands are a bit different but I can not seem to figure it out.

what do you suggest for lowercase letters with descenders (tails) that go below the baseline ... where do you place the reflective shadow?
